California turns off power to Millions.
No gas pumps, no water wells, no recharging your cell phone, no phone...
Preppers in California are laughing at the whiners.
The thing I always tell people, when they clown on the whole prepper thing, is don't focus on their "because government tyranny" or "because zombie apocalypse" thinking, and instead just ponder "because power is out for a week or two."
Think of your life without any electricity for two weeks. Are you prepared for that life? If not, maybe consider getting prepared. Doesn't take that much, but an ounce of prevention...
I can't imagine what the hospitals are doing. Yes, they have back up generators, but they only run emergency lighting and certain life support functions. Not HVAC except for a very few areas. The conditions have to be horrible, and if they can't get diesel deliveries to run the generators, their screwed.
Years ago we lost power in my area for about five days, and you'd think the world was ending. If it had gone longer it could have become ugly. The gas stations can't pump gas due to the electric pumps, so you'd have to go out of the area to get gasoline.
California is for the tough and stubborn. California has gone through earthquakes, wildfires (including the Paradise,CA fire), and riots. Californians know how to deal with this stuff. I don't want to see these things happen to California. At the same time, I think they'll ride it out. They've ridden out before.

How many times has PG&E gone bankrupt? Repeatedly suing PG&E into bankruptcy does little to allow them to update power delivery systems that would reduce fires. However, ALL power sources can potentionally cause fires.
The latest bankruptcy was caused by the state suing PG&E for fires "caused" by their power lines (which provide power to CA).
CA is a tinder box. Anyone who has ever hiked in the Sierras can verify this; I have never seen so much dried "kindling" in forests anywhere.
Where did they go wrong? Zeal to control forest fires (which threaten urban areas) which have been happening for thousands of years and reduce the massive build up of dried wood which has fallen to the forest floor.
So CA has to ask themselves- do they want power or not? Also, does it make sense to drive a utility into bankruptcy multiple times and disrupt power distribution?
Why not (instead of spending billions on illegals) does CA not update their power grid and start burying lines (which would go a long way in reducing fires) and insure power delivery?
If the government lost the ability to provide money, food, water, and power for an extended period of time I’m betting that at least 20 percent of the population would be wiped out. During disasters you see it time and time again. Most people don’t even have a day or two worth of food or water in their house. Lots of people don’t know how to take care of themselves in basic ways.
Because this is yet another "we hate California and delight in its demise" thread.
balls... The vast majority of people in California are egotistical elitists who want to make the Country over in their image.... The run around like chickens with their heads chopped off whenever some SHTF. Kind of like the other coast before a Hurricane. All the while calling the rest of us nut bars for prepping....... (Btw way I lived in the South Bay for 20 yrs)
