I suspect he will have to be tried for some sort of violation of tax law. He might well have been laundering money. But, I don't know that.
He has guarded his taxes so persistently that it is impossible not to be curious about what he is hiding. There are some who think his taxes prove him to be not so rich as he represents. But I wonder if there aren't some irregularities in them, which will not withstand scrutiny of motivated investigators. Perhaps he will have to pay a steep fine? I don't know.
But Trump is a grifter of grifters. I think there is something there.
Like the vast majority of folks with money and political influence, the odds of him seeing a prison cell are quite low.
