Socialism is a system where no matter how hard you work, you can't win, and no matter how lazy you are, you can't lose.
Depends on your definitions of win and lose are. i am satisfied with what I have and don't need to envy the billionaire or curse the poor. i do not want people going into bankruptcy because of medical bills, children not being fed in school, or the poor lying in the gutter. i dislike the rich flaunting their greed. If that makes me a Socialist I can live with it

Why don’t donate your money to the children and people with medical bills?
What kind of person are you volunteering other people’s money?

Most "workers" are clueless. If they weren't, they be running their own business.
Having "empowered" workers, with a horizon about 2' away, won't work. They don't even know what a "big picture" is, much less be able to see it. There job is to produce by plying their trade. The beauty of capitalism is that if you have a worker that actually does see the big picture, he can start his or her own business, and make it big, or move into management.
Your seriously over-estimate "workers" while underestimating the complexities of management - especially in the modern world.
While your ideas sound appealing to some, they are doomed to fail in almost all cases.
So you are against democracy then?
Same thing basically applies: how can people, "with a horizon about 2' away", do the informed choice during election time?
See, here is the problem you stumbled right here: either there is a socialism based on true democracy, or there is capitalism based on plutocracy/oligopoly. You can't have true democracy in capitalism - based on your own reasoning.
I don't believe in a command economy or forced development like Stalin or Mao so that leaves me out of that group as well.
Did anyone in this thread cited the actual definition of socialism?
Cause last couple pages I read show that people just don't know the meaning of the term, and talk about what they "think" is the meaning of it

Its been defined a few times already but some people just want to believe socialism is the government and nothing will change their minds.
