I am surprised that the sister remembers to breathe. It's unbelievable that we share a country with creatures so far removed from reasonable behavior.
What a family of cretins!
Siblings of a would-be armed robber who was shot dead by a clerk express outrage that the clerk had a gun. Most retail stores do not allow employees to carry guns. Dayton police said the action was legal. This was a Dollar General store. No word on what their policy is on clerks being armed.
"That's not right," exclaimed a sister. A brother said that this was the second of 10 siblings to fall victim to gun violence.
I have to agree with the sister. There are better ways to deal with situations like this than to pull out a loaded Roscoe and blaze away.
So Travis, you have had a gun put in your face and robbed?
Please share what better ways there would have been to deal with this?
Experts say it is better just to hand over the cash. That's what the robber is after. Then let the police and insurance deal with it. A friend who works as a cashier tells me that she was trained just to handle a robbery as a normal transaction. Get them taken care of and out of the store as quickly as possible, just as with any other customer.
Uh huh, how about all the clerks who did this and end up dead anyway?
Just like any other customer, Travis you should do standup.

so according to these people, including it seems the OP, law abiding citizens are not allowed teo efend themselves from someone looking to commit a felonious act?
sorry people that dont cut it. the criminal got what he deserved, and the clerk should get rewarded for their efforts to help clean up the streets of criminal scumbags.
No I agree it i irrelevant. The policy is not there to protect armed robbers. And judges and juries will think about the policy implications of such a decision. It's giving armed robbers a road map of where to rob.
To the extent it would be determined to be relevant, it would likey help Dollar General. If that is their policy then they could argue that they had a policy in place that would have prevented this but the employee broke it. The emplyee can't possibly be worth million of dollars.
But I don't think it even gets there. I just can't see a judge or jury awarding a penny to the family under tthese circumstances.
They are not going to sue the shooter, they are going to sue the store, since he was working for the store.
Remember the Domino's 30 minutes or less guarantee?
Quote:
Yet it was a case ruled upon in 1993 that rang down the curtain on the “30 minutes or it’s free” guarantee. An injury to a 49-year-old St. Louis, Missouri, woman, whose car was struck by a Domino’s
driver in 1989, led to an award of $750,000 in actual damages and $78 million in punitive damages against the pizza company.
Again, do I agree with it, nope....but that will be their way in to get money....
People cannot recognize a gentle sarcasm anymore...
You obviously haven't seen some of that OP's posts before. It's hard to tell if he is really as ignorant as he sounds on some of the subjects he posts or just loves trolling people. I think it is a little of both.
