I agree. A car is a weapon and it kills. Cops have to respond. 50 shots was overkill, but these dudes attacked the cops.
Obviously, you just jumped in the thread without readinga all the facts behind the story:
Quote:
There were seven (7) plain clothes undercover cops at this strip club the night of the shooting. Apparently the club had many violations for illicit activity and only needed one more violation to get shut down. The undercovers were hoping to find violations and shut the place down. They were in unmarked vehicles. The club closes, Sean Bell and his friends leave, the undercovers think he's going to his vehicle to get a gun (no weapons found in his car or on his person). Sean Bell is driving, they try to leave, the unmarked van blocks their way and Bell hits it twice, trying to get away from this unknown vehicle. After the 2nd ram into the van, 50 bullets fly - bullets from 9mm's. One officer fired 31 of those shots! Unbelievable! Personally, I think the cops were profiling these guys although they did absolutely nothing wrong inside the club. There was no reason to follow them out, yet the cops say they thought they were going after guns. Please!! Just lame excuses trying to justify their actions. I hope these cops are prosecuted. Police brutality is out of control....
But as well all know in America, a black man's life is pretty much worthless, so what else is new?
OK, so maybe I'm missing the whole point of the story and opening myself up to ridicule as a prude or whatever, but...
WTH is a guy doing at a strip club the night before his wedding?!
Does the bride-to-be know what kind of man she's about to marry?!
Yeckk...
Um, in the words of Roseanne, "Are you new?!"
Some (not all) people celebrate the groom's last night of "freedom" with something called a Bachelor Party, and that can involve a night at the strip club.
Lots of brides-to-be do this as well, it's called a "Bachelorette Party"
I LOL @ the sharpshooter comments. "Hold on guy! Before you try to run my partner over, can you give a few mintues? We gotta call in a sharp shooter as to avoid having to fire too many shots at your vehicle."
The man tried to run over a police officer, end of story. We complain about crime, then when justice is served swiftly, we cry about said criminals mistreatment. WTF is wrong with this country?
50 rounds divide by 5 = 10 rounds each.
Sad but true most cops only have a basic skill level with hand guns. They spray and hope for the best.
The man resisted arrest used his car as a potential weapon. Pretty sure they took more shots than skilled shooters would have needed but they were justified.

They were undercover cops in an unmarked car. They thought they were getting carjacked. What part of that do you not understand?
