It's the same old Bush, whether WMD, Katrina, or recession. Our president is a fool who doesn't have a clue. Now why did people vote for this incompetent boob?

And why aren't they willing to take Personal Responsibility® for the unmitigated run of disaster and disgrace that those votes helped bring about?

Bush is using his own advise.

And I quote..

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."

Some people have difficulty admitting to themselves that they've been had.
They don't want to feel foolish and yet they end up fooling themselves. Think of the beaten spouse who keeps going back to the abuser. Same syndrome, I think.

It's similar to those people who never, never admit making a mistake. It's always somebody else's fault or they blame it on "something" else. They are unwilling to learn from their mistakes and as a result are very slow learners.

No. It's April 23. You won't have as much as the advance estimate for 1st quarter GDP for instance until a week from today. Don't expect that news to be good. Added to the heap of other bad news that's around, maybe that will be enough for NBER to make a call. Maybe they'll want to wait to see more. They announced the start of the First Bush Recession (March 2001) in late November of that year...eight months after the fact. Don't expect a whole lot more than something like that this time around...

Yes yes yes, Bush created Hurricane Katrina with his patented Halliburton Global Warming Hurricane machine, then deliberately trapped people in New Orleans to die because he doesn't like blacks...LMFAO.

I have to wonder what the hell planet he's living on...better yet, what the hell planet is he FROM?

Oh, and on the ten minute ticker on my local CBS affiliate this evening, he's bringing up drilling in the refuge lands of Alaska again, so that we won't be dependent upon foreign oil.....bloody moron.
There is a specific set of requirements that define a recession. Those requirements have not been met yet. We are not currently in a recession. Once they have been met, then yes we would be in a recession. But no, we are not currently in a recession.

Yeah the Dow down 2000 points, oil at >$100/BBl, inflation up for the first time in 25 years, and housing prices in a free fall, but wait the Department of Commerce hasn't spoken yet. Times can't really be bad. "You're doing a hell-of-a-job, Brownie"
