Interesting article in Newsweek
How High Should Gas Prices Go? | Newsweek Voices - Keith Naughton | Newsweek.com

I largely agree with the arguments. America is addicted to oil and it is at the core of so many problems in this country - sprawl, poor air quality, road deaths, decaying cities, poor public transit, etc.

People need to really start thinking about lifestyle choices. Moving to the exurbs and commuting 20 miles each way is not sustainable. Higher fuel prices will start to make people internalize the costs of such a lifestyle. That is a good thing.

And people...here's a little hint - what with the huge increase in demand from places like China and India, oil is not going to get any cheaper. Wake up America.
