Forty-odd years to realize that America was right, after all? After sending half their people to prison for not worshipping Stalinist ideology?

Stunning speed?

MOD CUT communist slave-camp runners. Let them work for pennies to make our underwear.

Considering the fall of the dollar (this week = dead cat bounce), Vietnam citizens will likely wear the underwear they make instead of sending them over for these green paper things.

Not only that, they may want some of our underwear too.

It's good to see that a country like Vietnam is showing that globalization can be benefical when it's done a certain way. This is why I tell people that globalization isn't the problem but it's the approach or implemention of it that's often the problem. Before folks dis globalization and market reforms they should look around for countries that are making them work.

Will Vietnam's wages increase as production in the country increases and by having more industry locating there this should create competition on the part of companies to attract and keep workers also contributing to increased wages, benefits and better working conditions?

The Vietnamese are a decent hard-working people, and we never should have started the war over there. Millions of people were killed because we thought we should determine their form of government. How many millions must die just because the United States can't mind it's own business?
