That's funny, I can use almost the same statement but replace "FLDS" with "socialists" or "communists"...here's my revised statement:

I don't hate this group of [socialists/communists]. I despise them and do not really want to share a planet with them. Is that clear? We owe the children of this [country] the effort to find and destroy the [socialists/communists] wherever they may be. This is not persecution. Persecution is harming innocents. Socialist and/or communists are NOT a pox on the world. The FLDS is.

That's possible, but I'm still staying open minded on this issue. I'm not convinced either way, if there was abuse or not.

As to the original point in this thread, I have three broken bones from childhood, all before age 12. I don't know what the average is, but 10% for active kids seems plausible to me. Of course, I'd like additional information concerning the type of breaks. If they all are similar, then I'd be more concerned.

Dose the 50% of kids breaking bones include the total population of 0-18 yrs. in the US or the world? That compared to 9% of the kids on the compand taking into consideration that those kids dont play sports, have bikes, trampolines, swingsets, etc. seems high to me. For those that did break bones or their kids or siblings, how did you break your bones? They also stated there were signs of other abuse and the fact that nearly 60% of the underage girls had kids or were preg. Something is not right.

The fact is, the article contained no information about the types of fractures, only that some of them had evidence of previous broken bones...that's it! As such, speculation as to the cause is premature...

Thank you for your op... while I agree that abuses must be reviewed and punished by the law. I think it is best for us to review every family and childs case individually. These cases should be reviewed by state law and constitutional law. The rights of the parents and the children should also go into the factors to find true evidence against them. I would like to say GregW I hate the group of people who believe in economic socialism and find them to clearly be the destruction of our American society and individual liberty. I also feel the evil and festering blister on my rights and personal income is attacked and violated everyday by socialist.

Thank you.

I grew up in a family of 5. My sister broke her foot 3 times growing up.
Brother..broken arm. Other brother..broken finger. Other sister..broken toe.
Me..nothing til post 20 and then broken foot.

I think the questions are how did they get their bones broken, and when the breaks occured did they get treatment? This sect made the women give birth at home with no dr or midwife (a hideously dangerous practice imho), the real question is: Who set the bones? Are one of the men a dr? Sure couldn't be a woman, as they are not allowed to be educated. So, who saw to these breaks?

And for the record, I come from a family of 5 and no one broke a bone during childhood. But afterwards, one bro 21 broke collarbone in motorcycle accident, one bro 20 broke foot playing basketball, and one sis 38 broke her leg. Perhaps we were late bloomers statistically speaking
