[quote=HighPlainsDrifter73;3669371]I remember the global cooling scare when I was in high school. I always looked forward to it since there would be more snow to play in. I also remember how ethanol was supposed to save us from ourselves. How long will it be before this global warming stuff is debunked.[/QUOT

I think the 'debunking' is very soon to start (if not already)... the 'fly over states', (you know the states where people 'are bitter/cling to God and guns?' as elitest Obama put it),

Ever notice how libs/lib govts/ always put 'other' interests over people's???
If we need a road/refinery/bridge built, they block it or debate the hell out of it, which is a psedublock. And it's always in the 'name' of something, too much pollution/noise/hurt a bug nobodys heard of/etc....) This is the result of a lib govt run amok. Ever notice how much they depise 'big business'? ... dont want have anyone get 'too successful', and that will be a threat to them (while many of them are very well off, never could have done it without the American dream but want to block that on you, and make you a victim of something). They'd rather see you reliant on 'big govt' for everything that way the sheeple will keep voting their a$$es in. Why cant they just enforce what they're real position is, like protecting the country (and it's borders), national defense, etc... that's not enough for the power hungry socialists.

And what a dynamic think tank group of mental lightweights we have in congress now: they're 'experts' in oil production business, car manuf. business, trade agreements (that anti-Columbia free trade mucho major mistake, only US friendly against that Chavez dummy, but that be going against a fellow leftist, right congress? ), experts in healthcare business, and that failing retirement plans called 'Social Security'.
Most of them haven't had a 'real' job or owned a business in years/decades.... yet they 'think' they're in the Roman senate or something, nonstop enacting new laws/regs to the millons of others already in existence.

Speaking of hoodwinks/screwups: Social security is going to run out very soon, you'd think since the leftists developed it, it'd be their 'baby project', taken care of, monitored so everyone will get their fair share etc... But no, they destroyed it, and is of late a total screw up. There is no 'lock box', they've used the money for the general fund pool... Amazing how they cried/moaned about the Enron case (which was bad), and that justice must be done, but this is 100x worse! If the govt agency was a civilian co. (like Enron) all of them would rounded up and get very long visit to 'club fed'!!! But of course, this is not surprising, since the social security is just a Ponzi scheme on a Fed level. You can look up what a Ponzi scheme is here (and not the scary how similar it is to SS! If SS was voluntary that'd one thing, but it's Mandatory! Ponzi scheme - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now, my old parents are on SS, and they deserved it, like the all of the baby boomers who've paid into this scheme, but for their kids, (ie:me) at this rate it wouldn't be there, (look at the facts/math, not the feelgood politican answer).... really a shame.

I hate to interrupt a good rant with the cold hard facts of reality, but Social Security is solvent past 2040. The fixes that are needed to extend that date even further are very modest.

Why do we have to do that when all we really need to do is drive a Toyota Prius. That's all that is needed. Algore told me so!

Ok guys I'm not one to boast but, I clip Beano coupons and mail them to dairy farmers. It makes me feel like I'm doing my share to save to prevent global warming. I hope the farmers are using the Beano on the bovine.
