Perhaps. But I don't have much sympathy for "financially-strained SUV owners." We've known since the oil shocks of the early 1970's that good mileage might come in handy one day.

I don't understand the irrational hatred of the SUV. If someone wants to spend vasts sums of money on gasoline, that's their business.
In April, the average used SUV took more than 66 days to sell, at a 20 percent discount from vehicle valuation books, such as Kelley Blue Book, compared to 48 days and a 7.8 percent discount a year earlier, reported CNW Marketing Research, an automotive marketing research company.
Sounds like some great deals to be had out there on pretty new SUV type of vehicles.
Well the market value of a Power stroke Excursion, and an H1 Hummer is still way up there. Think all the hoopla about the death of the suv is premature, but I hope they become relatively worthless, I will buy a dozen, then when all the true believers have sufficiently crammed themselves and their families into the ecomobile, death traps of their choosing, fuel prices will come back down! Once again I would ask of those taking part in the planetary emergency hysteria, what vehicle do you suggest a family of 5 or more drive if not a large suv or full size van?
I own an SUV, but it is economical. Not all SUV's are gas guzzlers. Mine gets around 30MPG. Go Honda!!!!!!!!!!!!
