At least we do not have nutcases in Holland who go on homicidal killing sprees in schools and then commit suicide.
I guess our system works.

I still feel safe in Holland, cause we've proven that we can stop a threat before they become one.
We still don't have metal detectors in our schools, nor do we act paranoid towards our (Muslim) neighbours.
Unfortunately we will always have extreme cases.

Remember that is expectations . Many americans will say they are struggling when they are doing fine. Anybody who loses money on the stock market at a time prices go down will say struggling and everybody that has savings or retirement accounts are in the markets. Heck ;if you are a consumer you are in the markets.Expectations means alot and the american peole expect to own a 3000+ Sq Ft home these days it seems and have two family cars. Then they want the latest in electronic goods and cruises etc. That is very different from say the 50's.I thnik it is going thru times of struggle thst make people rethink their priorties; after WWII people wanted the american dream but it didn't include living on credit they couldn;t afford and they also wanted higher education so they could achieve more.

People crying about lost disposable income is not struggling.
People having a hard time getting to work and putting food on the table or losing their job is struggling.
