Well, the author is in his early sixties and wrote that take in May. I am very familiar with conservative thought in the sixties, also. Now conservatives would have you believe they invented the Civil Rights movement.

It was conservatives, both Republican and southern Democrat conservatives who were introducing civil rights legislation, not liberal Democrats.
It's unfortunate that the conservative Republicans and southern Democrats did not out-number the liberals in Congress. There would have been a WPA instead of the current useless welfare system, but then why would liberals want a black man to be empowered with skills and experience, ultimately owning his own business?

No, societies were formed for security reasons. The plains people allied with the fishing people because the hill people kept raiding and stealing the resources of both. Only by uniting could they defeat the hill people.

I also deeply resent some conservative telling me "What Liberals Think". Most conservatives are so tied up with their greed and insecurity to know what they think let alone what I think.
