Here is a rather interesting article fromt the WP -

Good points...

"Indeed, the dynamic, self-correcting nature of American democracy — the resilience of its core institutions and habits even in a time of military conflict — is the most significant finding."


The study, however, expresses "grave concern" about the Bush administration's attempt to extend the White House's power without congressional or judicial review.


..and bad points...

Without even reading the article, which I don't doubt, I'd still rather live in the United States of America than any other nation around the world. Period.

I'm sure some Chinese would rather live in China than anywhere else in the world too.

Some prefer security over liberty, 'cause the former doesn't require as much effort.
