Another article in regards to the U.S./Iran squabble - US says talks with Iran 'meaningless' without change in behavior - Yahoo! News (broken link)

I get the feeling this is going to end up in a quagmire that never seems to end.

About the last thing the Bushies seem to be able to do is to talk to anybody. Can't talk with Iran. Can't talk with North Korea. Can't talk with Syria. Forget about the Palestinians. Can't even talk with Venezuela. Now Albania, they do seem to be able to handle, but that's one on what is a very, very short list. The wages of a reclusive and self-aggrandizing unilateralism, I guess, but another thing one might call it is a complete dereliction of duty...

Look at it this way. The government saves money by not sending envoys to engage in meaningless chatter with terrorists and dictators, knowing full well that the MSM will create its own dialogue, anyway, thus accomplishing just as much and making for plenty righteous indignation for people like you to enjoy.

Abbas came here. I'm sure what he said was more meaningful than what Bush said. Subjective much?

Hmm. North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Syria, Palestinians...no, I'm being pretty objective here.

It's kinda hard to talk to insane fanatics who use religion and dictatorship as mallets to beat their own people down and think that strapping bombs to their own kids is OK.
