People have the choice to have to no children, one or two children, or 18 if they want to. It seems like there is this cloud of judgement in the mainstream over people who have a lot of kids or want a lot of kids.

Ditto for people who decide to be childfree.

It is NONE of our business. They have them. They support them. They raise them. Just how in the world is it any of your concern. When did this country turn into the place where everyone has a say in other people's private life? Mind your own business.

My grandmother had 11 children and lived to be 96, so I don't know if that point is always valid.

Normally, I would agree that it's none of anybody's concern. However, when the parents basically become breeders & have children they can't afford entirely on their own, that's when it becomes an issue.

When I refer to the parents paying for the kids' upbringing entirely on their own, I mean EVERYTHING ... including education & health care. Do these parents with 18 children send their kids to a private school or public? If their education is privately funded, it's their business. If it's publicly funded (with OUR TAX MONEY), there's a major problem!

Procreation is not a Constitutional right. When government money is being allotted to those who can't control their reproductive habits, that's purely socialistic. It's also an unfair burden to the ones who are childless because they're the ones who are stuck with the tax bill!

You should read the story. You would find out that their home-schooled.
Also, the constutions purpose is not to limit what people can do, it's to limit what goverment can do.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Ring a bell? These people gave LIFE to THEIR children. They have the LIBERTY to do so. And they are PURSUING HAPPINESS through raising happy, loved citizens. Those children will grow up to pay your social security so you should thank them. Their parents are taking care of their health care. The education provided to them may be public or it may be private but it is the same education that is provided to 18 families with 1 child or 1 family with 18 children. The childless people once received an education that was paid for by other childless people and they too had the liberty to make the choice as to have children or not. I doubt very much if they made the choice not to have children because of their concern over the taxpayers paying for their child's education. Forcing people to have the number of children you deem appropriate in the name of the "public good" IS socialism and is, in fact, practiced in China today. Personally, I don't want to live in a country where others are allowed to make those type of decisions for citizens. Freedom has a price. Sometimes that price is keeping your nose out of other people's business and hoping they will do the same for you. Suppose the country decided that, because there weren't enough children being born to shoulder the future cost of social security, EVERYONE MUST have at least 2 children?

Hey that's fine with me, but why not call a spade a spade? These people's lifestyle choices are being subsidized via a lower tax rate than other people in their income bracket.

Personally, I think that family is freakish...you have noticed the hair & clothing, right? She's stuck being a baby-machine, all in the name of god??? Please! Just think of the burden this one family is contributing to the pollution of the environment? Why someone would do that to themselves, I have no idea.
