I do not understand why they can't carry out more executions faster. The man obviously understands and admits what he did and wants to accept his punishment. So much money wasted trying to prove he's incompetent. I hope he's made his peace and wish more of them would.

Yes the ones who stop wasting resources and accept their punishment w/out trying to find every freakin loophole they can find for 20 years to extend their miserable worthless lives.

I dont like how much money we have to spend on them. I mean, why cant they be forced to work in jail to pay for their incarceration? Maybe the government should employ them in construction and capital improvement projects. Even if they arent skilled there is plenty of manual labor and grunt work they can do that would pay for their jail time and save taxpayers a ton of money.

I agree. You don't see that much. I would almost let him live for being honest!

I think I'm seeing here some encouragement of those who have been handed a death sentence toward the idea of coming to terms with their fate and then accepting the end gracefully. Does it matter then whether the imposer of that sentence was a court of law or merely the vicissitudes of life itself?

I'm not against capital punishment, but it's far more costly than keeping them in prison - believe it or not.
