I think both of you are missing my point. People are fighting over more than just TP, what else are they going to fight over that is trivial, many cannot protect themselves because of disabilities....I'm not saying people would use their gun over TP, but people have used their guns for far less.....
And you're right maciesmom, their are many reminders here.
I'm just saying, anyone experienced with guns knows there are few situations where you should ever use one. And no, I do not thing anyone needs a semi automatic to protect their home. Christ, go take some classes and learn how to shoot a bullseye.
Nothing like taking out your neighbors when you have a single intruder in your house.

Liberals for years have been asking "Why do you need an AR 15 or 30 round magazines?"
They then swiftly answered that question in 2020 by permitting mobs of violent people to cause billions of dollars of death and destruction.
300 to 1000 violent people in one place is why AR-15's with 30 round mags are needed, if you'd like to be able to defend yourself.
The 2nd Amendment requires citizens to have the 'commonly used weapons of war'...today, that is semi auto and full auto with larger than average magazines.
The 2nd Amendment is not protecting us from criminals, its protecting us from our Govt! This is where people make a mistake, they believe the 2A ONLY allows them to own a firearm.

Unless you have your gun glued to your side, having a gun would not have stopped any of that. I have a concealed carry license, and I don't carry unless I am hiking or camping in the boonie.

People can use their firearms to protect themselves and their property, but for the most part, the 2nd Amendments purpose is to protect citizens against the Govt itself.
