It is not something I would wish on someone, but given what I have come from, it is immeasurably better.
I am lucky and grateful for all that I have.

You know I am not in the habit of calling folks names except the one they use as their handle.
Did you get a chance to listen to the 2 part series on NPR? It is very revealing and puts the issue into a greater, not lesser context.
I was somewhat but not greatly surprised that 3-4-5-6 year olds identified their sexuality, but they apparently do. The two part series made it clear that parents in the main agree with you, but after seeing their own children suffer, revise their thinking and try to work out how to adjust themselves and help their child live in this world with some modicum of peace.
Given the choice between, on one extreme a miserable child, and a relaxed one, as much as I wouldn't want to have my child undergo hormone changes, I'd go in the end with a child who can live in their body, then take their own life or turn out to be more troubled than a life changing event as trans-generding.

Maybe I was being too closed-minded with my initial reaction (last page)... kids just seems iffy to me, like I could see how there might be legitimate reasons but at what age does someone really become equipped to make such a permanent decision as that?
EDIT: PS, also if anyone read my post on the last page, please take note that I would never use the phrase "Don't be silly," that was a mod edit.
