To the person upthread who said (paraphrasing) "it's OK to drive an SUV if you need it for work", that's just the point! Who know why anyone is driving an SUV? It's not up to anyone else to judge b/c we don't usually know the whole story.
Well, my daughter is in college and moves about twice year. And I was just giving one example of the usefulness of these vehicles. Ever try to rent a moving truck on the last day of May in a college town?

Talk about grasping at straws.
I lived in Illinois and went to school in Kentucky. If you think a person things they need to live on from August to May is enough to fit into one car you obviously have no idea. Unless of course you make repeated trips with a car which uses up gas anyway.
Tell it to the Secret Service... SUV's are their vehicle of choice...
