I'm of the opinion that 82 year old alcoholics probably shouldn't be allowed to drive anymore.

Seems the justice system is fair... no favors because his wife is the Speaker. How can one argue with that?

Other than the fine (which is low), it sounds pretty standard for a 1st offense misdemeanor DUI in California.

Nah, your average Joe would have had their license suspended.

Only if they declined the interlock. The interlock is not mandatory for the 1st DUI, but if you take it you can avoid the license suspension.

The only thing that is odd is the low fine.
