Has anyone thought about maybe not paying attention to what celebrities do or say?
Just a thought ...
While I do not care, I think we can all recognize that celebrities can draw attention to things with their platforms and influence.
If you'd like a good example, just remember that the first big anti-vax movement in the US was rooted in autism claims and was spread widely by celebrities including McCarthy, Deniro and others.
So while I personally agree with your sentiment, reality is that a lot of morons do listen to them and they are widely recruited for political causes as well.
The whole woke agenda has been foisted upon us under the guise of compassion and tolerance...as I read through this thread I was also watching the old Twighlight zone episode "The Howling Man"...the gist of it seems appropriate here!
“Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it tries to silence good.”

Why ? And lose the entertainment at seeing how clueless and out of touch of reality they are ? I'm willing to bet that there are thousands of replies on her twit account blathering on about how "proud" they are of her, or how "brave" she is. Those alone are comedy gold.
Now, if one get's upset and angry over these types of statements, then I do agree with you. If it bothers one, or triggers one, then they probably should pay attention to them.
It doesn’t make any sense to me. Girls can have masculine traits and still be girls. Boys can have feminine traits but they are still boys. The non binary they/them thing is just straight up nonsense. I have been on the receiving end of a lecture for misgendering a they/them.
Demi Who? I read the attached piece the OP supplied to find out and left the page thinking "This person is a role model for teens and young adults" ???
What a mess.
She claims “I’m such a fluid person when it comes to my gender, my sexuality, my music, my creativity,”
She/he? is/ was also a drug addict that had an overdose that caused multiple strokes and brain damage. She was lucky to survive. She is proud to have recorded her new album entitled "Holy F**K" sober.
I still say Demi Who? I looked it up and she is 29 which means her time as a role model to young people may soon be over because as Jack Weinberg said, Never trust anyone over 30...
The "Music industry" is strange these days. It seems that it takes more than having the look, a good beat and catchy lyrics, one also has to have a weird and woke backstory to really capture the spotlight.

Apparently so, as evidenced in this thread.

Apparently Demi Lovato has triggered the OP. Why even pay attention to Demi Lovato? If one is not simpatico with her cause or issues, how does she affect one's life?

Hm.
Lou Reed, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, David Johansen, Mick Jagger, Marc Bolan, Queen, Freddie Mercury ...
All pretty creative guys. All cross dressed on occasion (or more frequently). All bent gender roles.

All around 50 years ago.
So much for "these days".
All may have appeared androgynous at times, but none claimed , or flip flopped on what they were.
