Folks, you forget one simple fact.
Taiwan is NOT and independent from China country.
They are, they themselves, Taiwan and China, considering themselves ONE country, just separated temporarily.

US fully consented to that in its doctrine of one China years ago.
Any attempts to "help" Taiwan to keep its independence are nothing but calls fro insurrection and separatism. It is illegal by any international laws.

Or are the people in this thread so indoctrinated by the Leftist propaganda they have become bereft of understanding of what is going on, that they don't believe America is standing against the Axis of Evil.

Need I remind people that the "Domino Theory" has been demonstrated, in Africa and South America, as correct?
What on earth is your point? I am certainly not good with that.

Pelosi going to Taiwan is precisely on point for keeping China in check. If China were to take over Taiwan, then China is the gateway for all advanced semiconductors into this country which we rely on for computers, telecommunications, entertainment, transportation and military. That would be a national security disaster on many levels including supply, protection of intellectual property and security. If China invades Taiwan, we are at war.

Genuinely curious about this...
Because the “Liberal World Order” says we should, no other reason. Anything else is western progressive neocon internationalist propaganda.

Default rethink question?

Your question is under a false premise that Taiwan is not part of China.
Taiwan became part of the Republic of China, again, on October 25, 1945. You can thank the Japanese in WW2 and to a lesser degree the Dutch, Spanish, and every other imperialist nation for taking it away from China since China settled there in 17th century. Because China never bothered to grow into a centralized strong army nation until the latter half of the 20th century other countries continuously would push it around, steal and claim Taiwan and other portions of it as their own. Chiang Kai Shek, a pawn for the Japanese give rise to the belief Taiwan is independent.
Countries have "taken" land from others since history has been recorded and it has always been might and economics is right. It is the same today, the logic of the logistics speaks to this even better. Are we prepared to enter a conflict halfway across the world for a piece of land that we never even inhabited against a superpower that is 1-hour ferry ride off their cost? Take lessons from Russia and Cuba, how did that turn out for Russia?
The whole notion of "protection" is nonsense. The peaceful status quo has been maintained for decades between China and Taiwan and the only now challenged and China tries to reincorporate this island which interferes with western corporations who seek to possess Taiwan and exploit it as they did centuries before.

I was agreeing with you.

Just wording it in a way that makes it simpler for some people to understand.

(There are some people in here that can't make the connection.)

That agreement was with a government that is no longer in assistance, and therefore moot.

Nice piece of Chinese propaganda you got there.
