It scares me too. Blaming little children for something bad that happened hundreds of years ago, simply because of the color of their skin, is tantamount to child abuse.
That's not tantamount to child abuse, it is child abuse. It's also libel and slander. That's a verifiably false statement.
Literally no one alive today has engaged in slavery unless they are from outside the US (in which case there might be a slightly greater than 0 percent chance they might have been).

Democrats can't fathom that anyone could vote for big meanie republicans.
A lot of Latinos are from Central and South America where they've seen what the results of the communist policies that dems keep screaming for look like.
Also many Latinos are socially conservative because of their religious affiliations.
Well actually Hispanic women come in second place for the most abortions. So I will have to disagree with you.
The voting pattern of those with roots in Mexico and points southward have always voted largely for the Democrats. There are other issues more important to them other than fearing communism and socialism and that's "immigration" and the Democrats are very soft on that issue. Hispanics/Latinos have a very tribal mentality when it comes to that issue.
Florida is a doomed state... it's only a matter of time before some natural disaster of epic proportions happens in the state... my parents lost their home twice, we finally managed to convince them to return to their old home in San Diego California.
San Diego California... Wow and you call Florida a Doomed State, hurricanes wont do a fraction of the damage when the big one hits California, and it will, and the disaster it creates will make a Cat. 5 or two look like a summer day. Especially when you take into consideration Florida has very good emergency services available and in California's most vulnerable expensive cities like San Francisco the Emergency Service personal cant afford to live in the city and if the big one hits wont be able to respond for days just because they cannot get in. A hurricane gives days notice to get set up an Earthquake none.

California is a doomed state, particularly along the coast. We're one good earthquake away from the whole mess sliding into the Pacific. And one good wildfire from taking the rest.

Similar environmental issues. Both have unfortunate geography.
However only one admits to it and is working and spending to solve it.
Before the Baby Boomers started moving to Florida en masse, the Greatest Generation retirees did. And they were more conservative than the Boomers. As for the Hispanics, they've been coming to Florida at least since the Mariel boat lift of 1980, and well before then. I think what's different now is that Florida positioned itself as a refuge from COVID restrictions, and people who chafed under those restrictions in Northern states (such people being more likely to be conservative than the people who supported the restrictions) started flooding into the state.
So, there were folk who had political differences with the "northern lockdowns." OK, fine. But what's very interesting is that those same folk used their many means to "escape from New York," leaving mostly blue collar and poor folk who were not able to do so behind, during covid. It wasn't just the average Joe and Jill or Brandon who saw right through that.....!
I always thought Florida was conservawtive. Not that I spent any time 'studying' the political climate. (Remember I've only been a citizen since 2008).
I thought most southern states were red.
So I see why I thought that -- since 1998 Florida has had a Republican Governor
Miami area was blue but the rest of the state was mainly conservative.
White retirees and Hispanics. It's those two factors. In specific, it is the makeup of Florida's Hispanic population. California and Arizona, the Hispanic population is mostly Mexican. In Florida, it's Cubans, Nicaraguans, Colombians, Venezuelans. There is a sizable Puerto Rican population, and Puerto Ricans in Florida tend to be more conservative than Puerto Ricans in the Northeast USA (there are more Puerto Ricans in the northeast USA than in Puerto Rico).
republicans went up ~300,000....
..and democrats went down ~300,000
could be a lot of old time democrats switched parties
