1 - the cars were facing each other. Shocking that hood to hood, who would possibly think that a fire could spread.
2 - the Expedition rented was under a battery recall - the battery had NOT been switched out yet.

HA! I was thinking the same. Hunter was on board and requested the SS to take another lap around the block so he could toke up on some goof balls before heading into hang with the family for Turkey dinner.
There was so much drug residue left over in the cars from Hunter that the SS had to torch the evidence.
