The bigger question is, how many taxpayers are descendants of non-slave owners. My grandparents all immigrated to America after 1880, long after slavery was abolished. They didn't own slaves. So I would be exempted from paying reparations since my forebears bear no responsiblity for slavery. Descendants of slave owners have to pay triple since I don't have to pay anything.
The Blacks calling for reparations will say it's not enough. It won't be enough until they have the white American enslaved.
At the very least, each new black child born in California will also be due a quarter of a million dollars. That African American single mother on welfare is going to be pumping out a kid a year for life, with that kind of guaranteed income.
This in perpetuity. Every new black child born in California has to be given his quarter of a million dollars reparations. Year 2030. 2050. 2100.
The entire US black population would be better off moving to California, so every new child they produce would earn them an easy quarter of a million dollars.

The thing is, reparations in spite of the facts above, are logical. This is sound reasoning. This makes perfect sense.

Your sin is being white. Your very whiteness makes you no different than the most despicable slave-owning tyrant. There is no distinction by the left, between a white person who has spent a lifetime helping African Americans, and a white person in 1840 who abused 100 slaves.
This is moral relativism. Your white guilt is sufficient condemnation to transfer your wealth from those who look like the slave holders of long ago, to those who look like the slaves of long ago.
