Exactly.

Hey, I'm a former Democrat from California too and I am not a Trump cheerleader either.

Now I'm an Independent in Florida.

Nice to be awake and free.

But your premise it was the govt. influencing Twitter isn't completely accurate.

The Biden campaign, the DNC were not in govt. They were running a campaign but they aren't govt.

Trump is not govt. right now.

Andf even in 2020 when his campaign contacted Twitter to stop or ban comments -- it wasn't govt. influencing -- it was a campaign making a request.

Since JFK both parties have shifted to the left. JFK today would no doubt be a Republican.

Liberals were against war and the military industrial complex. Now they want to send US troops and start WW3…. To save Luhansk and the Donbas.

Liberals claimed black people can’t be racist, then they provoked Kanye to become a black Nazi.

Liberals claimed “my body my choice” then they told everyone to get a vaccine for a 99% survival rate virus.

The left is full of hypocrisy.

^^Off topic and deflecting away from subject of thread. Thank you for proving my point.

I am a registered voter unaffiliated with any political party. All four grandparents were dedicated Democrats, as well as my parents.

No one seems to be able to grasp the idea some of us are independent and not beholden to any political party.

For me, it's country over party. For others, it's party over country.
Liberals are not what you expect them to be.

Conservatives are not what you expect them to be.

The reason is that people cannot be neatly put into little boxes. People are not monolithic thinkers. Everyone has different ideas on any given topic. You will not find a group of people who all agree on some list of items that you want to label as conservative or liberal.

His rhetoric, yes. Those were conservative times and he had to talk accordingly. His actions were quite at variance. The test-ban treaty (while admittedly started during the Eisenhower years) were one example. His failure to back the Cuban refugees at the Bay of Pigs another. And, what about Quemoy and Matsu?
