Green Car Congress: GM Cancels the HUMMER H1
I believe that you are a little slow on the uptake, GM discontinued the H1 about 2 years ago, I remember it painfully well, now your only option is the soccer mom versions! Sad!

Excellent thing!!! We have really enjoyed them. We will probably trade them in the next year - when the 2010's come out - for the XC90's.

Actually - they don't cost that much

And, many very wealth people own Hummers. For example, Gov Arnold owns 3 of them (plus a Sherman Tank!)

Funny, when 'welfare moms' use a foodstamp 'loophole' to buy beer most people call that 'taking advantage of the system'. When other people use the farm vehicle loophole to buy a Volvo, people call that 'a wise business decision'. Excellent.

...still waiting for my thank you note, as one of the US taxpayer who financed your Volvo.

This is true. Upper class folks who aren't upside down on their houses and saddled with large amounts of debt usually don't own H2s.

My ex-girlfriends' ex-husband got the very first H3 off the truck. Guy is utterly broke and has negative equity in the house.

Well, to each their own - I have never criticized someone using food stamps for their intended purpose

And, the tax credit for the SUV's, enacted during the Clinton era, was for SUV's of all makes and Pickup Trucks and farm equipment. Was not a "loophole" - the Congress made it that way.

Funny - My neighbor down the road? Has 2 Hummers, and a Suburban - and a 6000 sq foot home - free and clear -

Guess he did not take your advice

Boy - and I sure don't know why people are picking on Hummers today - there are many vehicles - passenger cars, P/U trucks and other SUV's that get far worse gas mileage, and cost WAY more, than the Hummers

Somehow I think he's paid a tad bit more into the system than you have so don't hold your breath waiting for a thank you.

No, he makes $250K a year and is broke. Too many trips to see his hooters girl and the mens' club.

Statistically, I'm correct. Most H2/H3 vehicles are financed with 60/72/84 month loans. Your anecdotes are outliers with no basis in reality.

I didn't know they made doublewides that big.
