Is this more "blame the victim" mentality? I have never spit on anyone, and yet I am spat at constantly by people snarling at me in foreign languages here. I have always made an attempt at communication in the language of whatever country I've visited however inept I come off, and unfailingly tried to be polite, yet neighbors as well as strangers screaming in foreign languages have been threatening to violent to me right where I live. Manhattan Beach is an ivory tower bubble, dusesean, go take a tour of how the rest of us live here in L.A.

I don't know what type of world your living in dusesean, but if it's really that friendly as you say it is, I wish I was there.

No way this happens. A new Confederacy would be more likely. California is too culturally different from Texas and even AZ and NM for that to be feasible.

The Red States are too lazy - and too dependent on everything (money, veggies, manufactured goods, silicon valley, etc.) from elsewhere to form a new confederacy. Also, much of the South is now populated by people who moved from up north and by foreign corporations who set up factories to employ low wage southerners who don't complain about working conditions, salaries, etc.

The die is cast. Things will stay as they are.

The conservatives control the government. Why would those states succeed?

I did it in the spirit of...'the more things change, the more they stay the same'--same old responses--to the same old issues.
