This story is just downright remarkable:

According to the Long Beach Press-Telegram, Richardson didn't pay a car repair bill in 2005 and abandoned the vehicle with the mechanic. Then a Long Beach City Council member, she picked up a city car and used it for more than a year – putting more than 30,000 miles on it before returning it after she left the council for the Assembly, the paper said.

Various papers reported that she skipped payments on two other houses and owed about $9,000 in county taxes on the Sacramento property. Defaults of about $71,000 were reported on houses she also owned in San Pedro and Long Beach.

What makes it more incredible:

Meanwhile, Richardson spent about $77,500 from her own pocket to help finance her congressional race...She is unopposed in the general election.

I wish more of these stories would get around... maybe then people would understand how easy it is to be a Congressperson.

I'd rather my son be a piano player in a whorehouse.

It is rather remarkable that she would repeatedly not pay her bills, then give her campaign all of that money. Then, she runs unopposed. Heck, if I lived in Long Beach I would run against her, and just post her story every single day of the election cycle.

In a democracy, people get the government they deserve.
