Sunny, today for the first time I got a glimpse of Fox News. As I don't have television, I rely on trying to get some high-speed internet service--sometimes it works, often not in these here mountains.

Well, I finally figured out where so many folks get their ideas. I was floored--like in mouth agape--by what the commentator said--repeatedly. He made so many accusations against the press, and any opponent to the President, that I wonder how he gets away with not either getting booted off the air, or chased with dozens of lawsuits.

I'll have to try to watch more often--before I eat and try to better understand the position of those that support this administration, and in particular the war(s).

Of course, now that we are embedded in Iraq, walking away isn't easy, fun or even economical--but, and that is a big but, sending in more resources, and especially our human resources, just doesn't make any sense to my ole brain.

I sure wish one of the opposition party would make a strong case for not escalating the war, but most of all come up with a bona fide alternative. We can't just yell, no, without some fully fleshed out proposals.

PS - The President today has asked his opponents to make a proposal. Good for him and hopefully good for us!

ontheroad- I agree- but you know the expression "pearls to swine"- it's like everytime we think something decent may happen- again we get the rhetoric- we will ..."smoke 'em out of their holes"----oh brother, when he said that I thought I was watching 1950 Rawhide with Jack Palance!!. I mean that attitude smacks of contempt for American people. It is almost an embarassment.

sunny.

It's just a matter of time before all our National Guard units will be deployed in foreign countries, and no security here at home.

Here's what I consider a very interesting article on Iraq that might fill in some of the blanks on where truth, distortion and omission meet.

I agree, it's a very interesting article. The last paragraph says a great deal. Thanks for posting it.
