I find it unconscionable that many Americans still harbor resentment towards the Vietnamese, for us going into their country to rape, torture and pillage their land and people. While many returning soldiers said that My Lai was a 'routine' occurrance, that My Lai just happened to get caught, there was one American soldier who did his best to stop a war-crime in progress. His name was Hugh Thompson. Listen to his words.

I know every soldier can lose control in war time, but some perpetrated systematic evil and were not challenged except on rare occasion, like Hugh Thompson did, who actually had the guts to take a moral stand and stop the evil.
