I f they sell their flats at retail prices, why not , it would be a good incentive to try & cure my fear of height.
But of course them flats will be madly expensive!

Click your heals three times and repeat after me.. There's no place like home.. There's no place like home.. There's no place like home.

Why in gods earth would you want houses to go up, not out?

No way, I'm scared of heights. I was at a wedding reception on the 22nd floor last weekend and when everyone went to the windows to gaze out, I felt like I had to stay on the opposite side of the room so the building wouldn't tip over.

(Okay, 1. No, I'm not that heavy, 2. I know the building wouldn't really tip over, and 3. Yes, it's an irrational fear and I probably need a shrink lol)

I'll never understand the need to live in tall buildings. Like bbkaren, I have an irrational fear of heights and get vertigo when I go too high. It's all mental and I know that but still. Not to mention, it's the biggest phallic symbol I've ever seen and would not want to live in a giant penis!

As long as it has lots of fast elevators I'd be fine with it.

And as for it being a phallic symbol... it suits me well

Why not, both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Why do millions love living in New York City?

It's pretty simple actually, some prefer walkable neighborhoods, urban transit, no yard-work, having neighbors and entertainment at their finger tips conveniently.

More-so the reason: land is finite. You can only build out so much, before all land is sprawl and highways jammed (e.g. Southern California). If everyone had their own house on their own private acre there wouldn't be any land left for parks or farms.

I also appreciate architecture, and sprawl has very little architectural value.
