You know what would really save gas? Let's have the government ban all travel except that which they authorize! No one can go anywhere without their permission, allowing them to both run everyones life (nanny state) and to continue with their stupid energy policies.

If you don't mind paying for the gas, there is no reason for selling the SUV. But, if the law says 55 and you get fines like you do in VA, have fun supporting your local state's bank account. Actually, if the law changes, I guess it is like wire tapping, it is for your own good.

An open letter to Senator Warner (R-VA), 55 mph might be suitable for states in the Northeast even as far as Virginia but it is not suitable for those of us in the Western States. We don't need anyone from the East Coast come here and dictate how we should do things. We don't come to your neighborhood and tell you what to do. The best thing you can do is mind your own business. In fact I bet even many Virginians don't like your idea either.
