You nailed it paully, unions are driven by greed , their whole mentality is to drive up wages, in turn increasing the cost of living for everyone. Look how business are thriving in right to work states vs heavily unionized states.

Do you believe workers shouldn't have the right to organize? That such an idea is a meaningless leftover from the dear dead days of the New Deal?

great post. just when did we decide that government & corporations would treat us fairly in the absence of unions? french workers are fighting phycially for their jobs in the streets. they are being physically attacked by immigrants that want their jobs.
the union there is the only player on the field speaking for the worker. why do we think it is different here?
happy independence day, hey france, thanks for the NYC harbor statue

Well, I have worked on both sides of the fence. That is, the unjust business that sticks it to the employee's and the business that attempts to be fair, but is constantly being stuck by the employee's.

The people have the power and always will. They think "Big business" rules, but business means nothing without the people. A government means nothing without its people. The problem is, these "powers", "businesses", "governments" are often nothing more than a reflection of the people.

I find it hard to sympathize with those who proclaim injustice when they are a shining example of it themselves. Just a pot of thieves arguing over who gets the loot.

There are valid examples on both sides, but in most cases, they are fuleled by not an attempt of "An honest days work for an honest days wage", but a matter of "winner takes all".

I think they can organize all they want! and an employer has the right to say, look, here is what I am hiring you to do and this is how much I am paying you, if that sounds good, great, if not fine, go work somewhere more to your liking!

Well it also goes against the whole mentality that they are entitled to have things the way they want them and that an employer owe them!

I'm quoting you just because it needs to be repeated. You hit the nail on the head. Unions were a wonderful idea, but then you add the human element and corruption soon follows.

government and corporations are also corrupt. takes a stalin to stop a hitler. of course if you or your kids are in no danger of picking lettuce in the fields, the whole concept of labor unions seems a little silly doesn't it?
no disrespect intended but, i mean if jr get a new BMW and a trip to hawaii this year, we are not on the same page are we?
