It's you're. I learned that in 3rd grade.
"You are" = you're.
Pet peeve of mine. If you want to argue a point, you're not going to look intelligent if you can't grasp basic spelling and grammar.
I'm not a "dude" by the way.

Yes, some countries in Europe are on the right track. But the majority have clung to a life a pleasure.. anti work.. anti god.. anti family.

I don't know, throughout much of their history Europeans have slaughtered one another over notions of God and country. I think the fact that they're finally at peace and have found a way to enjoy life is something admirable.
Why is it that the French can smoke, drink and eat lots of fatty food and still be healthier than the average American? A Christian (pro God, if you will) argument would be that they take much better care of their bodies, which are gifts from God, after all.

Valid point.. I never said they ate unhealthy. They are just rejecting God, Embracing being single, living w/ their parents, refusing to work hard.. all a recipe for disaster for their country.
We work hard and have morals.. but yes, you are right.. we eat crap and don't exercise enough. That's another post though.

It's much less affordable for young people across Europe to marry, have kids, move out on their own. I have friends in Germany who complain about this all the time.
"Get a job and work harder!" you might say. Well, government labor regulations (France is particularly bad) make it very difficult to hire and fire people, so getting a job is not always an easy option. Red tape makes starting a business hard as well. I think you and I would probably be in agreement that government regulation and unions are a big part of the problem with many Europeans not working enough. I would disagree that religion has anything to do with that issue, though.

So I ask what the heck is wrong with people in Europe? Kids in their 20s and 30s aren't getting married, aren't having babies, living w/ their parents, partying all through the night. The kids riot when the govt tries to remove ridiculous laws that ban employers from firing people.
The euro may be strong but Europe is losing it's sense of God, Family and morals very quickly.
It's funny, on american tv we watch shows like Animal Cops because we have compassion for animals. We have groups that would give their lives to save a whale. We have animal shelters on almost every corner. Americans, in general, are very compassionate people. Not just to humans but to animals.
Europe has lost it's sense of compassion, it's sense of God, it's sense of responsibility. They can't even work a 40 hour work week over there.
Don't judge a country by the strength of it's currency.. Europe is falling and falling fast.
If you don't believe me, turn on the television and watch the slaughtering of the bulls in Spain. People here say they have so much culture and so much heritage. It's not culture nor heritage.. it's animal cruelty, period.

Very briefly, both Western Europe AND the US are very affluent societies...call them "post-Christian" if you will. They've pretty much solved mankind's age-old dilemma of 'getting enough to eat', and 'raising a kid to adulthood'. Those 'struggles' and challenges are what traditionally occupied our time and energy since the dawn of time.
What happens when people no longer struggle for survival, and their pursuits become more 'elective', and leisure time becomes a 'given'?
Nobody REALLY knows, because it's only a few decades we've been in this situation. One thing we DO know is that affluent people TEND not to have big families. Do they ALSO find new ways of 'getting into mischief' and doing 'silly things'? I don't know....maybe.
Might be that's what we're seeing in Europe and elsewhere. Maybe mankind, released from 'life-threatening' matters, takes up his time with SILLY matters....I really don't know.

Seems to be a trait among the Spanish-speaking to slaughter the animal in a very ceremonial sport. Even local Charreadas [mini rodeos] involve some rough play of cattle. State officials are citing cruel actions so hopefully these traditions will end some day.
Actually the run of the bulls is spectacular & very exciting.

It is very exciting. Innocent bulls are gored and then bleed to death while people taunt them. It's fantastic entertainment.
