OCALA Firing a .357-caliber handgun until it was empty, an Ocala woman chased two intruders from her home in the 3800 block of Southeast 68th Street on Wednesday morning

Hunley came into the living room, saw what was happening, returned to her bedroom for a .357-caliber handgun and fired a warning shot into the ceiling.

The intruder with the nail gun ran outside, while the other one ran into a nearby bedroom. He then pointed his weapon, believed to be a small-caliber handgun, and fired at least one shot at Hunley.

Then Hunley, who is 5-foot-3, emptied her handgun, firing four shots at the intruder. The gunman ran out the front door. Neither Hunley nor her daughter were hurt during the exchange of gunfire.

She needs to take a shooting class and get that aim down but good for her anyway a good example of someone refusing to be a victim.

Good for her. Some crooks think its okay to steal/rob from innocent people via home invasion with or without a gun. They are ready to crap their pants when the victims return gun fire with gun fire thats bigger then what they had. Too bad every home does not have a good home protection like this. If a few of these crooks were to die, then maybe less crime would be committed. I knew of a lot of Liquor stores that had a 38 under the counter beneath the cash register during my business dealings with them. Steve

i completely support the idea of making sure that gun buyers have the training that they need in order to purchase. but i think that if more people would stand up and protect themselves and their property, then we would have far fewer problems. right now, we're a nation of enablers in many ways.

Rather than buy a gun and get in a gun battle, she could have saved herself the trouble by buying proper locks and investing in a security system.

Locks get broken

Security systems do not prevent breakins
