I hope they not only focus on racial and income issues (and these are real issues, believe me), but also the negative images a lot of black youth in America are taking up and how it can also play a huge roll in a lot of the social problems and also continue to "feed" the stereotype of black people.
Statements like this are getting very, very stale. Every group of people have a subculture and this happens to be ours. You can only talk for so long and then you must let people suffer the consequences or the choices that they choose to make. These images have been around for how many years?? We have spoken and they still not change. A rebellious group they are!! Speaking about hoodrats, gang bangers and etc. should be ancient by now.

They still wear the clothes off their behinds, they still want to wear the bling, bling and they still want to go sell drugs and a host of other detrimental things, but hey!! live and let live. All I can tell them is that their choices are ones that lead to a a slave camp called prison. Modern day slavery in its finest and profitable also.

Key word is "against." Now who would be doing the against?? Discrimination does not happen to be a physical trait that we inherited. I find this quote to be very unfitting and definitely not funny!!

Hey ... I'm a black male originally from New Orleans and just speaking the truth. The black community has a lot of problems and I don't think anybody should be offended by my "pointles drive"--it's the truth.

Not for all blacks-next time be specific and choose another word selection. You cannot generalize problems that occur in our community to the whole population of black people. I suggest you take a research course.

I just hope someone will point out the need for Black-Americans to recycle the $700 Billion in spending power that we have. Many of our problems won't change until we do.

I agree, but I think that the spending has much to do with other issues people are experiencing, which definitely needs to be addressed in our communities. The "feel good right now" mentality is alive and well. Depression is paramount among black men and women, so shopping seems to be the temporary antidote that fixes all of it. This last statement could apply to many other groups as well.

YouTube - Generational Wealth

My comments are more related to what Magic Johnson is talking about.

Blacks have all of these poverty issues but when you look at our spending we spend Billions of dollars on so many products. The problem is that we don't have enough Black owned businesses to capture enough of those Billions. The Black dollar benefits non Blacks more than it does Blacks. Our dollars barely circulate once before leaving Black hands. Other people's dollars such as Asian's circulate at least six to eight times before leaving Asian hands because they have the businsess to capture their dollars contributing to healthier communities economiclly.

In every group there are those that succeed and those that don't. We have seen for example that the vietnamese that wre basically dropped into a society that didn't want them;that most knew nothing about and most didn't even know the language have gone far in two generations.I remember the first generation in high school, having a high graduation rate even tho their parents largely didn't speak english. I would say they are on their way quickly.Individauls working hard with a good support group within the culture makes all the difference IMO.

The problem no matter what race:

Take pride in yourself and your actions.

Thug actions have no part in normal society.

Drug dealing is not glorious.

50% un married births is outrageous.

50% of the 50% divorced not being fathers is ridiculous.

People who walk around to inflame racism as opposed to helping.

Not being able to let go of history. (slavery but this doesn't not mean forget it)

The huge misunderstanding of civil rights and that all people are created equal.

A crippling of a race so the other can catch up is not the answer. (affirmative action *catching grief*)

No golden rule application....everyone should follow the karma rules.

Being a murderer is not glorious.

Music aimed to sell records is not the truth and will be used to gain sales only.

A huge misunderstanding. *We are all in this together*

Wearing clothes for a giant is not respectable by any race.
