I agree, that's why they need to be outlawed.

Believe me, I would much rather befriend the Arab nations than continue our support of Israel at our own detriment, but it ain't gonna happen. Not unless people stop being PC and start asking the tough questions. That probably won't happen either though.

"Yeah, and if only Al Gore would stop claiming that he invented the internet. If all one ever learns comes through the filter of the right-wing disinformation media, there are a lot of things that one will be confused about, and a lot of silly notions that one will end up supporting...."
So which filter are you using? Clearly not an unbiased one either. Jews vote overwhelmingly Democratic by the way. |

It sure is nice to see that more and more Americans are becoming aware of what's really going on in the world. Just a few years ago a post like this would have been followed with the usual blah blah about the 'axis of evil' and 'wiping israel off the map.' I guess the level of propaganda we are being fed through our media is becoming so incredibly obvious that even the least politically aware are saying, 'wait-a-minute, this can't be so black-and-white, there must be more to this story.' Then as we do our own research, it's so easy to see just how controlled the media really is. They feed us information on such a dumbed-down level as if though we were children. Now if we could just begin to see through the false left vs right paradigm which is nothing more than two wings on the same plane...

I agree with the OP. Countries that possess nuclear weapons are in no position to tell other countries that they can NOT do the same. Especially a country that has USED nuclear weapons.

Do they have pictures of all of congress with little boys and girls?
What does this secret mafia organization have that they control our country's foreign policy. Is it all just as crude as pork gifts, or is there something more. |

Excellent post. Nice to see people waking up and that you can say the I word without being ignored or trashed.

Quote:
If they quit threatening to blow Israel off of the face of the earth it wouldn't be an issue. ...hangs much upon a misquote of a mistranslation of a misquote by Ahmedinejad of something that the Ayatollah Khomeini had once actually said. That you don't put the statement into any broader context than that of assumed self-evidence does not suggest an immunity to bias on your part. Pointing out this shortcoming does not suggest the presence of any on mine. |

I really don't blame Iran for doing what they are doing.
Iran has continually been invaded by western interest and had a brutal dictactor propped up by the west also in which they overthrew. Plus the west sponsored an imediate invasion of them via Iraq which to everyone's surprise, Iran resisted and a stalemate followed. And now, one of Iran's biggest foes, the US, has forcibly occupied 2 neighboring countries (not implying anything for or against the Afganistan and Iraq wars, those are for other threads). So, I imagine any country would be trying to possess the best and most potential deterent weapons available if in the same situation. |

there are two trains of thought.
on one hand, we don't have the right to tell another sovereign country what to do or not to do. but on the other hand, realpolitik is the name of the game and it wouldn't be in the US best interest for iran to have nukes. however they'll get them eventually. the US didn't originally want india to have nukes, and india became a full fledged nuclear country in the 70's. you can't stop progress, you can only artificially slow it down. |
