Seems to me the US does a whole lot of intelligence collecting but only acts on an incredibly small fraction of it. That is smart. If they act on the intelligence too often or are exposed via publicity, their *** is up and everybody starts learning about their dastardly, illegal spying.
Notice reading the newspapers how a lot of crimes are apparently solved by the police receiving "tips". Who do you thing the local police departments are getting their tips from?
How many nations in the world have 5 intelligence agencies:
1. FBI
2. BATF (Bureau of Alcohol/Tobacco/Firearms)
3. CIA
4. DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency)
5. DHS (Dept. Homeland Security, yeah like we needed another one!)
6. NSA
