You are in never, never land if you think it will always be legal. Look at the US Supreme Court, and the advanced age of many on the court. If McSame wins the presidency his nominees will be very conservative, and Roe v. Wade could very well be over turned.

I guess that is why millions of dollars are spent each year by the pro-life movement. Remember pro-lifers consider human fetuses and embryos to have the full legal rights of a human being; thus, the right to life of a developing fetus or embryo is considered MORE important than the woman's right to bodily autonomy.

Doesn't mean the law will be overturned. There's money going into pro-choice also.
How about MADD? I'm sure they bring in a pretty penny, does that mean we're going to reappeal prohibition?

And as long as they get the conservative religious vote... this COULD be the case..I think that is why this has come up so late in Bush's political career... McCain will follow suit.

Roe Vs. Wade: The conclusion of the Supreme Court was that a fetus has rights at the point that survival is possible outside of the mother. It isn't possible for a logical person to rule otherwise. That will NOT be overturned. What changes is the point at which a baby can survive with the umbilicals to the mother severed. The window for abortion is going to shorten.

There is a vast and real difference between a conservative supreme court justice and a right-wing, blindly pro-life nutcase who raises money in snake-handling churches all over the Southeast, which is to say nothing of the difference between the same justice and some mentally ill left winger who bleeds PC to the point of pathology. McCain is a reasonable man who has very clearly demonstrated uncommon moderation over the course of his career. He's just as wary of the nutjobs as you are, whether they be the right or left wing variety. He will appoint moderates because he thinks that is what is best for this nation. Obama will appoint the most liberal justice possible because he thinks that is what is best for his party.

Do some homework before you base your decisions on what your nutjob professor convinced you of.

Wrong. It is occurring with frightening increase:

IMO it has everything to do with women's rights vs. men's rights along with the Religious Right's association with the GOP.

Bottom line: a man's right to have sex outweighs a woman's right to not bear the result of it...at least in the eyes of the insurance industry.
