Nobody says "hey I want dues deducted from my check every month and I want to be out of work on strike" if they like their jobs and their employers.
Would WalMart have the right to fire those union employees?

That is a new term on me but I agree with you 100%

An employer does not have the right to hire and fire whomever they want?

For instance - some say they want to join a union (WalMart people). Some say they don't.

So the Union starts dickering on a contract - want the wages to start at, say, $15.00 an hour. WalMart says $8.00. Union says $15.00. WalMart says $8.00.

Union says - we are going to strike.

WalMart says - go ahead.

WalMart brings in replacement workers - @ $8.00 an hour.

Those that did not want a Union keep going to work

Everyone is happy - Opps, except for ....those on strike. They were effectively fired.

Add to those reasons

3. You are a Walmart customer and think you might have to pay a couple of cents more....

By the way, I agree with the other two!

Well I hope WalMart and others would vote as a reflection of their beliefs and the merits of a candidate. We certainly see many people in here that aim to influence others. I say research all the parties and their candidates... There are more than 2. then pick the best one...even if it isnt a Dem or Rep

The problem is, if you vote 3rd party, then later on you are labeled a "Spoiler", even if you would not have voted for the other two candidates.

Default My wife has not been told how to vote

My wife works for a Walmart in Albuquerque and has not been told how to vote. I asked her this morning. However if Walmart is ever unionized, it appears that she may not only be told who to vote for but will also pay part of her paycheck to support the union's choice.

My wife and family know how to vote without someone telling them and it certainly isn't for a Robin-the-Hood socialist.
