You should be very thankful that we beat the germans to it.

Without the threat of mutally assured destruction over everyone's head, I am sure a conventional WW3 would have broken out between the communist aligned nations and the capitalist/anti-communist nations.
Agreed.

Agreed.

His point was that it would be better if no such thing as nukes never mind who beat who to it.

I agree glad we beat Germany to it but I agree with his post . Best if no such thing as nukes.

The point that it prevented or may have prevented WW3 is a great point but the threat of nuclear war is a real possibility as you know and the world is in a race for nukes.

"I appeal again to the Iranian side no longer to play for time, but to give us a usable answer to our offers — stop dallying," Steinmeier was quoted as saying in an interview with the weekly Der Spiegel.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also said Friday his country would use force against its "enemies" to defend its nuclear drive, state television reported."

Third axis of evil about to decided it's future this weekend....the two others well....we saw what happened there.
-----------

Invading Iraq (based on lies) has only made Iran "run" to get nuclear weapons not to mention given them a buffer to do just that .

They arent thrilled with us next door. What a surprise .

First point - The Plutonium cooked up in light water reactors (Pu-240 and Pu-241) are not suitable for nuclear weapons. A special reactor, like the reactors at Chernobyl and our Plutonium production facilities, is needed to cook uranium into plutonium. Iran does not have one of these. Isreal does.

Second point – Burma and all the rest of the atrocious governments around the world do not have any appreciable amount of easily obtained oil. This is why Iran is so very important to our neocons. The wicked Iranians have not only nationalized their oil, they are also selling it, like the Russians, in Euros. I wonder why we are not trying the same oil imperialism on Russia.

There is no “Axis of Evil”. There is only evil that stretches from Huston through Washington and is anchored at Wall Street with tentacles in London and Paris with its glittering shopping center in Dubai.
