"I cannot think there are many people who are in favor of using limited federal resources in law enforcement to arrest people because those people decide to smoke marijuana," Rep. Barney Frank said.

I think it might be better that we wait until Nancy Reagan is dead to begin in earnest the undoing of the ridiculous (and of course costly) war on ourselves that was launched by the Gipper and herself. That way, there won't be any hurt feelings, and we'll all be spared the appallingly smarmy and self-serving sob-story campaign that the right-wing disinformation media would be sure to launch if the former first lady were still around to drag out onto the stage and project into unfairly aggrieved victimhood....

Then again the law enforcement and correction officers unions at the Federal state and local levels might not appreciate you coming in to remove a sizeable portion of their employees and putting their members out of work

so laws are mainly there to provide for employment of people?

all the dea and atf that are 'out of work' can join the local police ranks in actually investigating murders, rapes, and doing patrols to keep the crime down in their areas. or they can join the border patrol and that way there can be no complaints that we don't have enough personnell when it comes to securing the borders.

that employment argument is the same that people made back in the day when they were against machines and computers because their jobs would be made redundant by machines and computers. tough. you learn and adapt.
