Due to the Olympics,The Government of China has stated that Blacks and Mongolians will not be served alcohol in any bar or club, stating it as "safety reasons".
It dosen't matter what country the black comes from they are not to be served.
I told this to a friend from Africa and he thought I had to be lieing, he thought no country or people would ever be this blatantly racist in this period in history.
I also told him that much of their perception of us was introduced by American media.
Can someone please rationalize this for me, I'm trying not to be bitter, but it seems that as a black man there's just no chance of being seen as a true human being no matter where we live or visit.

Wow, that is a surprise, didn't know this:

Bar owners around the Workers' Stadium in downtown Beijing say that public security officials are telling them not to let in "blacks" and Mongolians, and many of them have even had to sign a pledge. The official reason is the fight against drugs and prostitution, dominated in the past by Mongolians and persons of colour.

I guess my reaction is they retract this immediately with a public apology, or we pull our team from the games.

That's bad. China has never been a shining example on social issues.

China is a mess.

The show last nigh was absolutely stunning. Gorgeous work. But, it's the crap like this (along with their air quality and tons of other problems) that makes them look bad, and makes you think twice.

China is just a 3rd world hell whole country with the bomb. Their human rights violations rival that of Walmart against their employees here.

Then the other night 2 Americans were stabbed and now this? Well 3rd world countries usually follow the rules of a hundred years in the past.

Why did we even go over there? In the past countries have boycotted the olympics for much less then this.
