Kosovo-Metojia (get it right) never attempted to secede.
The US publicly opposed secession by Slovenia and Croatia, but behind closed doors, the US was arming and backing both countries.
After Slovenia and Croatia seceded (in 1991), Bosnia-Herzogovina seceded in 1992). A civil war broke out between ethnic catholic Croats, ethnic Orthodox Serbs, and ethnic Muslim Serbs and Croats (Bosniaks). Macedonia also declares independence in 1992.
The Clinton Administration (primarily Clinton's National Security Advisor Tony Lake who is Neo-Bama-con's chief foreign policy advisor) violated US laws by spending $500 to $800 Million to purchase weapons from Iran to back the Bosniaks (see
Senate Intelligence Committee and the House Select Subcommittee to Investigate the United States Role in Iranian Arms Transfers to Croatia and Bosnia).
The pipeline is US tax payer dollars to Iran for weapons, US tax payer dollars to Saudi Arabia for fighters, US tax payer dollars to Pakistan to train the fighters and they all meet up in Albania where Clinton has tasked al-Qaida #2 man al-Zahawri to run the smuggling operation of weapons and mujhadeen fighters into Bosnia from Albania.
In 1996, the pipeline then shifts weapons and fighters to Kosovo-Metojia to the KLA.
In 1999, Clinton engages in military action to bomb Yugoslavia without a declaration of war (although that doesn't bother Dennis Zuchini).
The illegal war was undertaken "...so that little girl can live in a free society with free markets for American trade." (verbatim quote from Clinton speech March 1999).
The region is
Kosovo. Kosovo is a South Slavic word, specifically Serbo-Croatian that means "blackbird," as in Kosovo Polje (Blackbird Field) The state of Kosovo (Yugoslavia was a federation since its inception after WW II just like the US) consists of two provinces, Metohija and Kosovo. The province of Metojiha likes
BETWEEN the country of Albania and the province of Kosovo, and it contains some of the Orthodox Christian world's oldest monasteries and churches.
There is no relationship between Illyrians and Albanians (see Justin, Polybius, Strabo, Ptolemy, etc). The cultures are disparate and the languages dissimilar.
Albanians did not migrate eastward into the province of Kosovo until after the Serbs had established control in the 12th Century. Their numbers increased dramatically after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
As with the Serbs in Kosovo-Metojia, the Kosovars with a birth rate of 18% will out breed the Macedonians and out number them by 2010, which should prove rather interesting when the KLA (backed by the US) starts terrorist activities there.
