There was a vicious hate crime in Long Beach last October where 8 attackers attacked 3 innocent people while hurling racial slurs.

Why this hasn't reached Paula Zahn's MULTIPLE specials on "Racism in America" or even any mainstream news broadcast is BEYOND me.

It sure is interesting how the incident, nor the court ruling showed up in mainstream news.

I think somebody from a "less than loved" news outlet should go around and interview other news organizations about this story. It would sure be interesting to hear why this case was never covered, but the kids in Howard Beach, NY were a media frenzy.

Exclamation Tawana Brawley Hoax/ Duke Rape Case

You know exactly why this story hasn't hit the mainstream. It's the same thing that happened when Melissa McLauchlin was kidnapped, raped, tortured, and murdered by five black men in South Carolina (1992). The police were even reluctant to label it a hate crime least the black activist groups be upset.

If the racial identity of the victim and perpetrator were reversed and it was white-on-black crime, the media would be (like we saw in the Tawano Brawley hoax and the Duke Rape Case) screaming out about white guilt and racial hatred.

When will whites stop accepting the label of racist? When will they demand that black-on-white crimes be reported?

Just the fact we are being allowed to speak of this, shows that maybe these type of hate crimes are finally coming out in the open, and are no longer being kept hushed up. People are not so afraid to talk about it anymore.

Where do you live that this hasn't been in the media? I've seen stories on news shows here in Atlanta and I've read about it in the AJC as well as online news websites.

As far as Paula Zahn I don't know....Paula? Any comments from you?

There is a difference between hearing about it,.............and hearing about it, over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.

You are so, right on the over and over. Like the Duke case I get tried of listening to the news because, they are focusing on an incident that may not have ever happened and these white boys are being threatened by the Black Panthers. If their innocent how will they ever convince groups like these that seek any reason to HATE!!

The Duke case was not just white on black crime, it was wealthy private school white crime, which always gets huge media coverage...in addition, this case got mainstream coverage and sports coverage. I don't agree with what happened there; black leaders coming to defend a stripper prostitute because she is their color. I was really pissed about the Duke lacrosse season being cancelled when they were the #1 team in the nation, especially when it turned out that she was lying. But these are very different cases involving people on opposite ends of the income scale and on opposite coasts.

Was Tawano Brawley raped by rich white athletes?

I heard about it over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.

Here's some info on the Brawley case--she insinuated that several white police officers raped her--not some random men.
