Will that also give you some weird sense of satisfaction, 'knowing' what lumps of coal republicans have for a heart?

No, why would it? I'm just saying, I wouldn't be surprised if some people were thinking it. There's a lot of insensitive people out there ya know.

Insensitive people come in all party affiliations - including no party affiliation. I just think it weird to concern oneself with potential negative thoughts that others may or may not be thinking. I think it reminds me of this:

par·a·noi·a Pronunciation[par-uh-noi-uh]
–noun 1. Psychiatry. a mental disorder characterized by systematized delusions and the projection of personal conflicts, which are ascribed to the supposed hostility of others, sometimes progressing to disturbances of consciousness and aggressive acts believed to be performed in self-defense or as a mission.
2. baseless or excessive suspicion of the motives of others.

Nah, we voted for Bush because he was the best one running.
That he turned out not good sucks, but its still good knowing he was the best man for the Job.

Interesting. Interesting because almost every single thread on this forum is negative in some way, do you bandie about this expression w/others as well? Are you feeling guilty & trying to alleviate it by insulting me? Question for you: Why are YOU so concerned that I simply wondered about others reaction to this? Why don't you concern yourself w/more important matters.

Where pray tell did you get that from? BTW, it is not about a thread being negative, but someone concerned with others' presumably negative thoughts. Do you see a difference between the two?

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you. Whether properly called Republicans, or neocons, or merely fundie extremists, the right has so long and so deeply been involved in the irrational politics of division, abuse, and hatred that it has become all too easy to believe that many among their numbers would take satisfaction in the death of any Democrat. Or liberal. Or Muslim. Or illegal immigrant. Or resident of New Orleans. Or on and on and on.

This is the sort of sickness that we will have to work toward curing in this country in the years that lie ahead...
