Yeah, really- people named Scooter are third-graders who come in from playing outside with grass stains on their knees and snot running from their noses...
I find it appalling (and very telling) that this isn't getting much more play in the "liberal" media than it is. This trial is exposing how the Bush/Cheney administration uses mainstream media to push forth their propaganda, and how complicit the media is in the whole game. How anyone could possibly take Tim Russert seriously again is beyond me, but then again we live in a culture where hillbilly heroin conniseurs like Limbaugh are still given a platform, but anyway...I expect that this trial will point out pretty clear signs further up the food chain as far as who was ultimately responsible for Plame's outing (Rove, Cheney, Bush). We'll see how much our treasonously complicit media pays attention to all THAT dirt when it comes out...

You've got to wonder if there isn't going to be a "bombshell" moment somewhere further down the road. Isn't Cheney supposed to testify? Under oath? In front of the jury? (It's really kind of chicken**** that Bush and Cheney wouldn't testify "under oath" to the Grand Jury.)

Scooter was put on the witness stand late in the day today. Also, the judge gave approval to release his grand jury tapes so everyone can hear them. I guess there is 8 hours worth of audio tapes.
Everybody got popcorn?

4:41 p.m.: For the fourth time, at the merciless prodding of Fitzgerald, Libby characterizes the moment when Cheney first mentioned Valerie Plame. Once again, Libby seems to be sticking to a script. Cheney's comment was "offhand, sort of curious." (There's that word for the fourth time.)
As Cheney opened up what turned out to be a gargantuan can of worms, Libby tells the grand jury he was thinking, it "might mean nothing, it might mean something."

So what are you thinking? Bush? Cheney? Maybe both?
I'd really like to see something happen because I think this administration has been dishonest from the get-go... The Energy policy, Enron, the money for Haliburton, all the secrecy about everything...

I think it goes all the way to the top. I think everyone's hands are dirty where this is concerned.
And I totally agree- if there's one thing I can't stand, whether it's in a personal relationship, a work relationship, or my government, it's secrecy. To me, secrecy is the calling card of a liar, and these guys have pretty much lied about everything. I also believe that when someone (or a group of someones) lies about everything, sooner or later they are going to do something so big to give themselves away that it can't be ignored. Plame-gate might be that thing.

You know, I've thought all along that Bush and Cheney (and Rove) were arrogant because they thought they would never get caught on anything. They had Gonzales and Ashcroft and everyone else all cowed and covering their tracks. All it took was one tiny slip that turned out to not be so tiny...
Anyway... I'm glad this is happening. I'd love to see what happened to the USA energy policy after this is done (Cheney's secret meetings). I think we all know who was writing our energy policy and why.
This has to be one of the most corrupt administrations in history.
