He cut taxes but mainly on the richest who receieved the biggest tax cut. I understand people say the rich pay a majority of the taxes but how does cutting taxes on the rich stimulate the economy when they dont spend their money right away like most people do. Besides with very large un-funded government workers pension liabilities, Medicare and Social Security liabilities why cut taxes when those tax cuts will just mean larger tax increases later which if the middle-class keeps going downward is going to have to shouldered on the affluent in the future.
I also dont understand why states like Mississippi and West Virginia would vote for Bush with his tax cuts mainly going to the upper-end because alot the Mississippi's, West Virginia's and South Carolina's who voted Bush got alot less in the way of tax cuts compared to CT, New Jersey and Washington which are affluent blue states.
He also started the civil war in Iraq. I think its amazing its up to what half trillion dollar mess now. Its still amazing how anybody can think that the situation in Iraq was worth starting.
Not only that he usedsocial issues as a diversion tactic when the civil war in Iraq started going badly.

My biggest complaint about GWB is his unwillngness to consider views other than his own and the way he surrounds himself with only those who parrot his stance.
I thought his administration's treatment of Colin Powell, a man not afraid to speak his mind, was horrible and a terrible waste of military experience.
I believe GWB has created problems that will haunt the US for many years.
I'd say about a 5 myself. His taxcuts have provided a good economy and he has protected us from further terrorist attacks on American soil.
For MattDen. The ONLY way to stimulate an economy is to provide an atmosphere of investmentand consumption instead of savings. To do this one must encourage those who are willing to invest, mainly the wealthy, to take their money out of savings and invest into businesses, expanding them and creating more jobs. By cutting capital gains taxes, the taxes paid on profits from investments, the government encourages investment. By cutting tax rates the government allows workers to keep more of their earnings, providing additional capital for investment and consuming.
As evidenced by the recent increases in revenue, though tax rates were cut, proves that an economy is stimulated by taxcuts, reducing the deficit, and eventually reducing the national debt.
Bush could provided 500 billion dollars more in tax cuts if it wasnt for that mess in Iraq!
Or he could spent 500 billion dollars on education, decreasing poverty rather then starting a civil war.
Thats the worse thing is not his 2001 ans 2003 tax cuts, but the fact he has wasted so much money on a unwinnable civil war.
You've obviously misunderstood. Tax cuts INCREASE revenue, not reduce it. Therefore, more tax cuts, the more money that is available for your social programs. Spending money on education doesn't improve education nor does it decrease poverty.
